Bangladesh e-Journal of Sociology, the online peer-reviewed journal of the Bangladesh Sociological Society, accepts manuscript for consideration in all major areas of sociology. Manuscripts must be on an original research work done by the author(s) and must not be sent for consideration to other publishers simultaneously. Manuscripts may be sent in the form of articles, reviews, book reviews or research notes. News items and announcements may also be sent for publication in the Bangladesh e-Journal of Sociology but the e-journal shall not take any responsibility for their content.

Manuscripts should be limited to a maximum of 15,000 words (as counted by Microsoft Word counting system) and is to be submitted directly as Microsoft “word” files by email as attachment to the editor at: This email address is being protected from spambots. PDF, Zip Files or paper printed copies are not accepted.  Please see “Submission Guideline” for referencing, formatting and general guidelines for submission. 

Manuscripts received for publication shall be sent to the reviewers over the electronic medium as well and is thus assured a quick review. The author(s) shall also be notified of the status by email. If a response by regular mail is required, postal address must be included along with author’s email address. However, because of the poor quality of service, communication through regular mail is not assured.

Bangladesh e-Journal of Sociology is an academic publication of the Bangladesh Sociological Society. The Journal seeks to introduce the works of sociologists to a worldwide readership through the electronic medium free of cost. Thus the BEJS is offered free to individuals and institutions over the Internet.

Articles in this journal may be copied and distributed for reasonable academic use free of charge and without permission. However, the use of the Journal or the articles contained in it for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited without the written permission from the publisher.


Plagiarism is the most heinous crime in the academic world and is detested by all. It robs the hard work of a genuine author and lets a criminal attain fame.

Bangladesh e-Journal of Sociology , therefore, adheres to a “zero tolerance” policy regarding plagiarism. Articles are checked for plagiarism before publication through plagiarism checking software. In case of minor violations the article shall be returned to the author for correction. But in case of major violations the article shall not be considered for publication anymore. The author shall be notified and given a warning in such a case. 

However, it is sometimes difficult to detect plagiarism but the e-Journal will take action if plagiarism is reported after the publication. The editorial board will double check the reported case and in case of positive proof, will take the article out of publication. The author shall never again be considered for publication by the e-journal.
